The Rookery, Saunders Island - Rockhopper Colonies and Cormorants

A hike further on from the Black-Browed Albatross colony there is a large Rockhopper penguin colony whose nests are interspersed with Imperial Cormorant nests. The penguins are busy coming and going all the time, often forming lines as they move across the cliffs. A freshwater shower also provides for entertainment as the birds queue on their return from the to wash their feathers.
